REMOTE QUEENSLAND JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

FOR THE SPORT OF LAWN BOWLS

Vision Statement

The Algester Sports Club Junior Scholarship Committee is committed to recognising and rewarding the sporting achievements and contributions of our junior sportspersons playing the sport of Lawn Bowls in remote Queensland.

 

Mission Statement

The mission of the Algester Sports Club Remote Queensland Junior Scholarship Committee is to acknowledge all junior lawn bowlers, under 18 years of age, for their efforts in playing lawn bowls.

 

Junior Scholarship Award

The Remote Queensland Scholarship is designed to recognise a junior bowler who could achieve higher achievements through the financial help of the scholarship.

The scholarship is for the junior lawn bowler who in their chosen sport, has achieved at a level of individual success within their club or district.  This junior has displayed great sportsmanship both on and off the bowling green.

 

Selection Guidelines

The junior bowler must be under the age of 18 as of the 1st of February 2025 and a full Junior member of a Queensland Bowls Club’.

The scholarship is intended for a junior bowler outside the Southeast Qld Region.

The junior bowler has been playing bowls at his club, for a period of at least 1 year.

The junior bowler has shown at club or district level he could achieve high levels in the sport of lawn bowls.

 

Scholarship Award

The winner of the Algester Sports Club Remote Queensland Junior Scholarship will receive a financial support of $2000 towards their travel and accommodation to the 2025 Junior State Championships.

They will receive a scholarship award plaque for recognition of being the 2024 Remote Queensland Scholarship winner.

They will also receive the opportunity to have one on one coaching & mentoring from Emerging Jackaroo Cohen Litfin.

They will receive a Henselite playing shirt, cap and bowls bag and a set of Henselite Bowls to the value of $1000.

 

Scholarship Nominations

Nominations can be made by a Club, District or Parent of the Junior Bowler.

Nominations can be made by filling out the nomination form and stating in 100 words or less why this junior would be a deserved winner of the scholarship.

Nominations close on the 1st of November 2023.  The winner will be announced at the Junior State Championship in 2024.
